Class Description: "We'll use music to fuel and challenge stamina and accuracy in timing. We'll discover how each song can give an attitude, a feeling or a flow to each exercise and how quickly we can integrate that even when approaching new material. We will slow down and use repetition to work through the "sticky spots", while other pathways we will use speed and momentum to find the flow. I've been curious about the different ways we can bear weight on the edges of our feet, transfers of weight that are rooted in tap, house dance, breakdance, and ballet, the various pathways of the shins, falling through diagonals/tipping points, etc! Experimentation will be used a tool to deepen understanding of the form and also to facilitate performance of each movement. The class structure consists of centre and across the floor sequences to warm up and try out pathways and a phrase to end the class."
Sarah has had the honour to share her teaching practice with students at Training Society of Vancouver, Harbour Dance Centre, Pulse Dance Centre, Modus Operandi Link Program, Echoing Frog, Dance Collective, Lamondance, Coastal City Ballet and many more.
